Review: His Lordship,  Cluny2, Newcastle 10/07/2022

Described as “Garage Rock” I think His Lordship are something more. I attended the gig with a +1 who said “I just don’t like Rock and Roll” (where have I gone wrong as a parent??). However, said offspring seemed to enjoy the quirkiness and intensity of the band.

With James Walbourne and  Kristoffer Sonne having a illustrious rock background and a drummer who was crazy mental in his absolute dedication to controlled mayhem this audience was in for a treat.

Fabulous guitar and bass complemented the frenetic drumming during Jackie Works In The NHS” and “Repenter”. An unexpected dedication to the late James Caan was a beautiful rendition of Santo and Johnny’s Sleepwalk. The guitar was truly amazing.

I would recommend seeing His Lordship live should you get the opportunity and get hold of the album NEW EP ‘HIS LORDSHIP PLAY ROCK‘N’ROLL VOLUME ONE’ EP
OUT NOW: LISTEN HERE ON BANDCAMP As all the tunes we heard at the gig were crackers, bangers or indeed smoochers of the highest quality.
