#Jaws @JAWSJAWSJAWSSS come to @RiversideNCL 26/11 other tour dates here

Revelling in the jubilant reception to their sophomore record - JAWS - are delighted to announce a fresh run of UK dates that will extend their Simplicity Tour into the Winter months of 2017.

Lining up 12 new shows for later this year, the dreamy indie pop trio will embark on a succession of live dates kicking off at Reading’s Sub 89 on Friday 17th November, taking in the likes of Southampton, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Sheffield and more, before rounding off proceedings with a huge homecoming show at The Birmingham Institute on the Friday 1st December. Full dates and details as follows:

November 2017 UK tour dates

Fri, 17 Nov 17 -  Reading -  Sub89

Sat, 18 Nov 17 -  Southampton -  Engine Rooms

Sun, 19 Nov 17 -  Exeter -  Phoenix

Tue, 21 Nov 17 -  Cardiff -  The Globe

Wed, 22 Nov 17 -  Bristol -  The Fleece

Thu, 23 Nov 17 -  Norwich -  The Waterfront

Fri, 24 Nov 17 -  Liverpool -  The Magnet

Sun, 26 Nov 17 -  Newcastle -  Riverside

Mon, 27 Nov 17 -  Edinburgh -  The Caves

Wed, 29 Nov 17 -  York -  The Crescent

Thu, 30 Nov 17 -  Sheffield -  Plug

Fri, 01 Dec 17 -  Birmingham -  The Institute

These additional dates come as something of a victory lap for the Midlands outfit as they look to close out their touring cycle for their warmly received Simplicity record on a high, and before knuckling down on their next studio venture.

With DIY Magazine hailing JAWS’ development into “grunge-infested, kicking and screaming juggernaut”, Simplicity was praised by DORK Magazine who defined the record as “the sound of a band truly becoming their own” and across much of the music press, before finding itself a ubiquitous entry in many of the annual 2016 Album of The Year listings.

The news also follows the recent unveiling of the band’s video for current single ‘Cast’. Like much of the album it stems from, ‘Cast’ is a sonic manifestation of temerity and evokes a sense of self-determination and of overcoming inner turmoil. Accompanied with on-the-road footage shot during some of the band's ecstatic UK shows earlier in the run, the video turns the camera around on the crowds that have feverishly supported Simplicity at the overwhelming gigs and on record. Watch the video for Cast here.

Produced by Gethin Pearson at Vale Studios, Simplicity by JAWS is out now.

JAWS are: Connor Schofield (singer/guitar), Alex Hudson (guitar) and Eddy Geach (drums)

#dodgybastards the 8th @steeleye_span album being toured. @cityH4ll 5.12.17

Steeleye Span
comes to Newcastle City Hall
Tue 5 Dec 2017

In an age when it is not uncommon for an artist to take five years to follow up a successful album, the creativity that Steeleye Span displayed in their early years is still astonishing. In the decade between their debut and 1980's Sails Of Silver, they released twelve records alongside touring the world and enjoying a string of hits.

Now with their 50th anniversary fast approaching, the band have come close to matching that work rate - readying themselves for the release of ‘Dodgy Bastards’, their eighth album in twelve years.

Such inspiration has come both from the individuals involved, Steeleye mainstays Maddy Prior, Rick Kemp and Liam Genockey alongside Jessie May Smart, Andrew Sinclair and Julian Littman in the current line-up, as well as the captivating source material – the work of 19th century scholar Francis James Child and his collection of English and Scottish Ballads.

The album is appropriately titled, containing stories of murder, religion, incest, skulls, honour killings and tormented spirits - the perfect subject material for Steeleye Span's dark take on the music of the British Isles.

Such epic tales require a suitable musical backdrop and the record is firmly in the band's classic musical mould. 'Brown Robyn's Confession' sets the tone but with a new twist, violinist Jessie May Smart taking the lead vocal before the distinct tones of Maddy Prior join her on the striking chorus. Elsewhere each member plays their part, allowing the music to explore a variety of different paths as the songs ebb and flow in keeping with their characters and events - with Prior and Littman even adding a spoken word/rap element to long time band favourite 'Boys Of Bedlam'.

Julian Littman of Steeleye Span says, “on our last album, Wintersmith, we set the writings of the late Sir Terry Pratchett but Dodgy Bastards sees us returning to the folk tales and characters that have always been at the heart of the Steeleye sound. We’re hugely excited to get the album out there, and to embark on our 2017 UK”.

Steeleye Span plays Newcastle City Hall on Tue 5 Dec 2017 Tickets are £32.00 and can be purchased at  or from the Theatre Royal Box office on 08448 11 21 21 (Calls cost 7ppm plus your phone company’s access charge).

Debut EP from @BrookeBentham and the start of a tour at Surf Club #Tynemouth 17/6

Shares new single ‘I Need Your Body’

Listen to I Need Your Body HERE

Brooke Bentham has premiered new single 'I Need Your Body', the second to be
taken from her debut EP entitled 'The Room Swayed'. This follows the success of
acclaimed return track 'Heavy & Ephemeral', which picked up support across
Radio 1, 6Music and Radio X.

'I Need Your Body' is a melancholic mix of lust and resentment, produced again by Ben Baptie (Daughter, Adele, Lapsley) and pushing Brooke's stunning voice further than ever before. If 'Heavy & Ephemeral' described feeling suffocated in a relationship, 'I Need Your Body' captures that sense of moving onto someone new ("into the night we go, once more") but again falling for the wrong person. Brooke's debut EP, 'The Room Swayed', is themed around those static, unfulfilling moments in a relationships new and old, and the realisation of how to break out of it (in part through writing songs).

Brooke Bentham also has announced a special Tyneside homecoming show this Summer. Having just concluded her first UK tour proper in March with the esteemed John Smith at 8 salubrious venues across the UK inc. London’s Union Chapel, Brooke returns to the North East for a headline performance at the Surf Club in Tynemouth on June 17th. Further dates and festival appearances will be announced soon.

Buy "Heavy and Ephemeral" here

Aged just twenty one, Brooke Bentham's music nonetheless carries the weight of someone who's lived a hundred lives already. She was born and raised in Southshields (just outside Newcastle) before relocating to New Cross to study at Goldsmith's (where she is in the final stages of her degree). Already, her songwriting swells and plummets in ways which feel as inspired by the epic alt rock journeying of War On Drugs or Ryan Adams as the emotional vocal depths of Sharon Van Etten or Angel Olsen: all shot through with remarkably personal, direct lyricism which suggests a maturity and life ethic that's wise beyond her years. 'The Room Swayed' may have been written in an admittedly challenging period, but the results suggest Brooke Bentham is now looking firmly towards a bright future.

'The Room Swayed' EP - will be released on June 9
