#review @consettfestival a great family music festival

It Was Spring at Consett Rugby Club, Even If The Weather Didn't Know! Consett festival is a real community festival where local businesses get together and bring in local bands and traders to create a great day out for  families from Consett and beyond.  Having missed the Friday night acoustic gig with the amazing Driven Serious headlining, I brought my 10 year old along to enjoy what Consett Festival had to offer. We first visited the  double decker Farmyard Flyer bus, with its menagerie of farmyard animals including very hungry lambs to be bottle fed, ducks, poultry, a pig and some very cute rabbits. We continued into the site following the recognisable sound of Black Nevada . The band do heavy rock with a good foundation of melodic intelligence.  After a visit to the hog roast stall where, young 'un got a portion way too big for him, we returned to the main tent to find Jen Stevens and The Hiccups , a fabulous live band who are always gigging. MUCH TALKED ABOUT PLAY STARRING EX SERVICE PERSONNEL COMES TO THEATRE ROYAL   ‘I am so proud and overwhelmed.  It is the most moving play I’ve seen for a long, long time.  The public should get behind this and be part of something unforgettable.’ Ray Winstone In the centenary anniversary of the outbreak of World War 1, the play The Two Worlds of Charlie F , will start a new UK tour visiting Newcastle Theatre Royal 28 April – 3 May.  The tour, which will be supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, will be supporting The Royal British Legion by raising funds at each performance.  It will be performed by medically discharged military personnel, as well as professional actors.  The Two Worlds of Charlie F was the idea of Alice Driver, the then Masterclass Creative Producer and now the Executive Producer of this new tour.  Her initial idea was to provide a unique work placement for serving wounded, injured and sick (WIS) milit
