Following a sold-out headline show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall, LARKIN POE will be touring their new album ‘Venom & Faith’ at a string of 2019 UK & European headline dates. The Nashville-based sister duo comprising Rebecca and Megan Lovell have also today been confirmed for next June’s Black Deer Festival.

Larkin Poe recently premiered the video for their “raw, powerful, ragged” (CLASH) version of Skip James’ blues classic ‘Hard Time Killing Floor Blues’ - watch here – one of two covers on ‘Venom & Faith’, the other being 'Sometimes' by blues legend Bessie Jones. The rest of the album’s tracks are Larkin Poe originals, including the blistering lead single 'Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues'

The follow-up to their critically acclaimed second album ‘Peach’, which was nominated for a Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist Album, ‘Venom & Faith’ was produced by the band and engineered by their long-time collaborator Roger Alan Nichols. Recorded in Nashville earlier this year in between headline shows, festival dates such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and a featured guest performer spot on Keith Urban’s Graffiti U World Tour, Larkin Poe approached ‘Venom & Faith’ with fierce independence. From Rebecca’s powerful vocals on “Ain’t Gonna Cry” to Megan’s sultry lap steel on “Good And Gone,” the sisters weave their talents into the fabric of their experience and a picture of the American South. “Blue Ridge Mountains” harkens to the sisters’ hometown Atlanta, “drinking sweet tea every day” with stomping percussion and churning riffs. ‘Venom & Faith’ redefines what it means to make emotionally resonant music while also maintaining boundary-pushing musicality.

It's just a crack in the screen...... Not my usual kind of blog post. The smartphone has become part of everyday life. For a business like mine it had opened up new avenues to spread the word about my clients as a PR. I found some of these shut suddenly when my phone hurtled to the kitchen floor. I worried the phone may cost a fortune to fix, but got similar quotes from about 3 people and so when one of them called back promising a 48 hr turnaraound, and 6 months warranty, I thought, I could trust the friendly voice of "John" at the other end of the line. The UPS driver arrived within 10 minutes and my phone was in a padded envelope off to Elite Phones And Computers in Manchester. This was a mistake.
