#HotOffThePress EP by Peculiar Disco Moves just a small part of an exciting 2015!

It’s the snazzy new must-have, like a suddenly-fashionable uncle’s jumper, or a recyclable cup of skinny chai latte - without further ado, freshly packaged from the conveyor belt this morning, please be upstanding for:

Hot Off The Press EP Available on Bandcamp as MP3 or limited edition CD on 30th April Peculiar Disco Moves leave no stone unturned in their quest for pop’s crown of idiosyncrasy, with the release of ‘Hot Off The Press’, a foray into the world of lost identity, fallen heroes and where-are-they-now’s. The EP will be available to purchase via Peculiar Disco Moves' Bandcamp page. The launch gig is yet to be organised but the band have been asked to play Stockton Calling festival on the 4th April. Breaking News has had airplay on BBC Tees by Bob Fischer and from Nick Roberts with a session at BBC Newcastle.

There will be a special promotional video for lead track Breaking News, so the band ask you to keep your eyes peeled and your mind open... The overriding theme to Hot Off The Press is one of unknowing regret, and a failure to capitalise on being society’s flavour of the month. Lead track Breaking News is a portrayal of celebrity life, where red tops will sell their Grannies to get a picture of a Z-lister parking his car one minute, then drop him or her like an anchor in the sea the next.

American Way explores the effect that our friends across the pond have had on life in the UK, taking away from some of the eccentricities that make British life so unique. There is, however, a nod to some of the more amiable traits of American lifestyle and culture, as well as a hint of sarcasm at the downfall of British society.

Glamour Girls sees the band dip their toes in the waters of four part harmony-induced passion, and what happens when you make a move for that green slice of turf on the other side... Peculiar Disco Moves had a busy and prosperous 2014, following up the release of May’s single, Lost For Words, which featured a time machine video with the band revisiting past eras of musical significance. This song was also recently handpicked for inclusion on New York-label Factory Fast Records compilation release Pitch Black Heart.
The band carried this momentum into a busy season of Festivals which took them to Manchester, Derbyshire and Yorkshire, as well as a clutch of local appearances including NARC Fest, Oxjam, supporting Voice Of The North choir at The Sage, and being handpicked for a number of guest variety show appearances at the Northern Stage and Tyne Theatre. The band then made their boldest move to date (well Danny, Pav and Proud did to be exact), donning the high heels and false eyelashes for a stint as women in the Dragons’ Den spoof video for November’s single When Your Mother Goes Home.

This was supported by a double header gig, staged at the Castle Keep in Newcastle and Bridge Hotel. The video was exclusively premiered through NARC Magazine’s new online website, and has featured on the magazine’s new compilation album.

Peculiar Disco Moves have received widespread coverage and acclaim from their past releases, notably in the form of Chronicle and Journal Magazine features, BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio play, a HMV in-store appearance, and a novelty video made for lead singer Alix's football team Bradford City reaching the Carling Cup Final in 2013, which spawned over 10,000 views on YouTube.

It’s the music of Peculiar Disco Moves...this band has rejuvenated and reinvigorated my musical being. They are completely and utterly original, following none of the standard formulas” Can’t Believe My Earz blog
