NE1fm 102.5 @Jowheretogo Show for 29th Nov. to 13th Dec.

Oh, man is it that time of year already?!

It's getting near Christmas so the whole entertainment landscape is starting to change in Newcastle. Theatre especially, has got into the festive spirit with all the panto's and Christmas themed shows. Local musicians are releasing charity singles, and collaborating on charity albums, because that's the kind of people we are up here! So before I go ahead with what's on, I'll just let you know about some great music you can buy, and at the same time, raise money for a good cause.

Tiny Lights Recordings has gathered local musicians together to record ‘Silent Night, Tiny Lights’, released on 16th November which features a host of new Christmas songs and a few old festive classics. There’s a host of awesome contributors to the album, including Playlounge,Fawn Spots, The Union Choir, Tissue Culture, The Railway Club, John Egdell, The Lake Poets, Natasha Haws and many more. I've got it and its really rather good, and makes a change from the usual Chistmas recordings we hear every year. You can download and/ or order the CD  from this website and by doing that you will contribute to to Smile for Lifea wonderful North East charity which is dedicated to enhancing and enriching the lives of children, who cannot get help from the larger national charities. So now to what's on, and what I will be blethering on about on NE1FM  on Thursday 29th November.

Stan at the Brandling Villa playing rocking power pop the way it should be! I like them, you can tell can't you? Only found out about this after I got my Lovely Eggs tickets, no matter, say hello to them for me. Tell 'em Jo who went to the Cavern with them told you to come!

The Lovely Eggs at The Head of Steam..a band after my own heart...rather like me (except better) they like to make songs of many different kinds, lengths, and varying degrees of seriousness or lack of it. It will be a fun gig. So I'm going. New album can be ordered here.

Monday 3rd December

Gentleman's Dub Club at the Cluny. Dub, ska, roots reggae, should be a canny party.
                                                                            Very smart!

Young Mr Turner has had great success in 2010with a Children in Need single " The Impossible Dream" and he also was asked in 2011 if Help For Heroes could adopt his song "Say Goodbye", which went on to sell over 300000 copies, raising over £250k. He is now signed by Starfighter Records and the only way is up. You can buy his album here. I'm enjoying the album, especially the song, Loveblind.
