The Stagg Do 5 years in the making, written by an American (James DeMarco) , about Geordies, starring Geordies, with Geordie music and with a premiere screened on Westgate Road at the O2 Academy, this was truly a local affair. The story, about a camping trip involving a groom, his best man and his mates takes a turn for the uncomfortable when the father-in-law to be joins the group. Staggy, played by Andrew Stagg is being chaperoned by his fiancee's (Charlotte, played by Therase Neve) father, "The Judge". Daddy-in-law to be, is played by Bill Fellows, a familiar face on many TV series and films. This scuppers the plans of best-man Pob, and pals Si (Simon Buglass) and Radgy (Craig Conway), who really wanted the trip to evolve into a "beer and titties" extravaganza. Much silliness, drug references, the funny things that can happen, in the dark, in the Northumberland countryside add up to an enjoyable romp enhanced greatly by a fabulous soundtrack provided ent...

Time Travelling Treats The Mining Institute is becoming a favourite venue of mine. Whether in the large stain glass windowed library or the small room we were in, the Institute has a number of interesting old rooms and is well worth a visit. This room was particularly suited to this launch party, due to its "large living room" feeling and the handy adjoining, reasonably priced bar. First on was Ani Sandwith, a young singer songwriter with a lush bluesy voice, an ability to write good tunes and very busy piano fingers. Ani can be heard playing as a part of Michael Blackwell 's band and so will be involved in the recording of his album as well as her own new EP. So What Robot came on and blasted through a number of their older and newer tracks including their latest single In Love With Love with their usual enthusiasm winning themselves a few new fans in the process. Observations from 27/03/2014 At The Cluny Photos all ©Jowheretogo Words by James Clarke: Had to nip along to  The Cluny  when I heard there was a fundraising band extravaganza for relatively new muso mag  NE:MM , ran by  Russell Poad , whom I’ve always admired for promoting excellent live shows in t he past. Last night’s line-up was another fine example of quality Northeast talent.  I rocked up around 9pm and caught the end of a set by a duo named “what we call progress” Their Chemical Brothers meets singer songwriter setup had me intrigued, it wasn’t just button pushing techno-nonsense, it was clever, melodic, unique and quite beautiful. These guys wouldn’t be out of place in some kind of post clubbing chillout backroom. I’d like to see more of them.  Next up was mint Yorkshire lass  Meghann Clancy . So What's Been Happening? Since this blog was launched there have been a lot of changes. The Jowheretogo Show is an established part of the NE1fm schedule and Jowheretogo PR has had its first clients through the books. This blog serves to publicise events in the Northeast and review those that have just happened. There have been theatre, music and comedy events on here and photos from the gigs we go to. The old listings format is long gone, with bigger features for events more favoured now. There's going to be features on Jowheretogo clients and people who get in touch to be featured on the Jowheretogo Show on NE1fm on Mondays 12noon until 1pm (subject to schedule changes, updates will be posted on here). For now though, a brief intro to the people who are using Jowheretogo PR. These are bands and an artist who are simply brilliant and need to be seen and heard by as many people as possible. Happy New Year! I hope you all had an excellent festive season and you weren't plagued by one of the many varied nasty viruses. Unfortunately the Jowheretogo house was full of the dreaded lurgy but we didn't let it spoil it too much! 2013 is set to be an interesting one (in a good way I hope) for Jowheretogo. With a website, under construction, introducing bands, artists, comics, events and theatre in a way that isn't just a listings site, its going to be more personal than that. I love music and entertainment, and I want you to get the best out of your spare time and hard earned cash.
