The North East film-making duo who brought you the low-brow Geordie comedy T he Stagg Do are astounded by the recent success of their Kickstarter crowd sourcing campaign which smashed its 30-day target of £4,000 in less than 48 hours. They now plan to build on the momentum of their success and are going for a “stretch” goal of £7000 which will help them pay for more UK screenings as well as show the film in the US. Their initial Kickstarter campaign was designed to pay the costs of BBFC accreditation which is a requirement for films to be screened theatrically in the UK or released on DVD. “The whole thing has thrown me for a loop,” said American-born James DeMarco, co-writer and director of the film. “I thought it would go down to the wire.
