James and Slow Readers Club,  Newcastle City Hall 17/5/2016 The typically bar-obsessed City Hall audience was a bit sparse while Slow Readers Club brought ethereal lyrics and jolly Smiths-esque guitars to the stage. This didn't make their reception to the support band any less warm There could be some Echo and The Bunnymen/ Electrafixion influence with this band but the sound is very stand-out in the current market. One More Minute and Days Like This Will Break Your Heart bode well for the contents of the new EP. The unsigned band from Manchester have been doing fabulously on Youtube with the highly memorable I Saw A Ghost and this was performed beautifully with Aaron Starkie’s wonderfully resonant vocals the star on the Christmas tree. They are a very tight live band and show real love for their work. Troy Slater is Working Round The Clock to  Create Masterpieces on People's Skin Since rediscovering his talent for tattooing, Troy Slater has gone from strength to strength in his expertise in the craft. He works at Immortal Arts Studio in Carlisle and has a strong background in fine and graphic art. Lion The past few months have been non-stop for Troy as people see his work and want something of that quality for their own corporal canvas. Troy is a unique artists and can create commissioned pieces. This post, however is about his tattoo work. We'll be back with another post about his wall-mountable art. So What's Been Happening? Since this blog was launched there have been a lot of changes. The Jowheretogo Show is an established part of the NE1fm schedule and Jowheretogo PR has had its first clients through the books. This blog serves to publicise events in the Northeast and review those that have just happened. There have been theatre, music and comedy events on here and photos from the gigs we go to. The old listings format is long gone, with bigger features for events more favoured now. There's going to be features on Jowheretogo clients and people who get in touch to be featured on the Jowheretogo Show on NE1fm on Mondays 12noon until 1pm (subject to schedule changes, updates will be posted on here). For now though, a brief intro to the people who are using Jowheretogo PR. These are bands and an artist who are simply brilliant and need to be seen and heard by as many people as possible.
