Smiles all Round The sold-out Tyne Theatre was treated to a show with several acts providing laughs and entertainment for everyone young and old. Hosted by Theatre Royal panto stars Danny Adams and Clive Webb (whom I remember in Tiswas), the show included Nick Celino who, I found out was in the Britain's Got Talent competition, and is now signed to the American Silver Scream label. BLYTH COMEDY NIGHT WILL BE A REAL LAUGH A BLYTH RESIDENT is hoping the sound of laughter will help breathe new life into his local community. Gavin Humphries and his brother, stand-up comic Kai Humphries, have launched a new comedy night at Newsham Side-Club on Winship Street. Punch-Drunk Comedy aims to bring the world's best stand-up talent to Northumberland, with future line-ups featuring the likes of Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Phil Nichol, local legend Gavin Webster and Jason Cook, creator of the BBC Two sitcom Hebburn. But more importantly, the Blyth brothers hope the night will help bring their local community back together - if only for once a month. "In an age when we spend more time than ever before behind a keyboard, we want to bring the community spirit back to Blyth," Gavin explained. "The bars, pubs and clubs in the area are steadily disappearing from the social map, but the requirement for us to enjoy each other's company is n...
