Christmas is Nigh!

Theatre is still firmly in the realms of panto and musicians are kindly donating their talents to charity. It’s getting pretty close to Christmas.

Exciting Developments on Youtube-Remember "The Tube" 
Some enterprising folk are working hard to bring the atmosphere and ethos of The Tube back to the northeast. There'll be new music, local bands, and entertaining chat. They are currently based on Youtube and Facebook and need as many followers and supporters as possible. Get watching and commenting and keep an eye on The Garage-Live project!

The Little Detective Agency and the Case of the Festive Thief at Northern Stage.

Aladdin at the Theatre Royal. Starring Clive Webb, Danny Adams and Chris Hayward.

Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood at the Tyne Theatre on Westgate Road, By the Newcastle Panto Company. Good value, great fun.

Classical Musical Events

Ceremony of Carols by Northern Praeclassica at St James United Reformed Church, Newcastle.

An Unforgettable Evening with Andre Rieu. Popular violinist Andre Rieu is joined by the Johann Strauss Orchestra at Metro Radio Arena.

The Snowman at the Sage Gateshead. Northern Sinfonia accompanies the classic animation. A very popular event in previous years.

Thursday 13th December

The Famous Class at the O2 Academy. A “dirty pop punk band from London”.

An Evening with Lady Winehouse. A tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, at the Trent House pub, Newcastle.

The 1975 at Hoults Yard. See their “Sex” and “The City” videos on YouTube. Cool tunes!

NARC “Stars in Their Eyes” show. At the Cluny. Tiny Lights Bands, Lake Poets, Maps Are Fiction & Bonsai Five will “be” Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Super Furry Animals and Idlewild. Look out for the Tiny Lights (a local indie record label) Christmas CD with local bands playing Christmas music as you’ve never heard before. Buy it here.

Friday 14th December

This Ground Moves Single Launch at Hoults Yard. Celebrating the launch of their single “Shoulders of Fortune” which got some exposure on American TV’s CSI New York last week. Good work lads!




Saturday 15th December

Get your santy hats ready! Slade and the Sweet are at Sage Gateshead.

Bootleg Beatles at the City Hall, Newcastle. All the stages of the Beatles on one night!

And a quick mention for the Singing Stellas (previously known as the Acapella Stellas) who will be performing a seasonal setlist in the foyer of the Sage Gateshead on Saturday 15th December at 11am. I will be one of the sopranos. Its free!
